Public Thinking Events in the EBR Center, fall 2022

This semester, my colleague Elizabeth Cali and I organized seven exhibits that we displayed on 11 different days on the topic of Black Portraiture. More than 1,000 students attended as part of our Public Thinking Events, which are sponsored by the SOAR office at SIUE. We held all of the events in the EBR Center in Lovejoy Library.

For the exhibits, students viewed works by comic book artist Brian Stelfreeze, covers of the comic book Black Panther #1, photographs from the Eugene B. Redmond Collection, and paintings by Kehinde Wiley, Amy Sherald, and Kadir Nelson.
