I've followed Joseph G. Ramsey's writings on various topics, and especially Richard Wright, for a few years now. So when I was developing a list of topics for Remarkable Receptions and knew I wanted to include Wright, I asked Joseph to compose an episode on Native Son.
He agreed to contribute and produced an informative and engaging composition about the publication and responses to Wright's critically-acclaimed novel.
This episode, writes Joseph, examines "the first black American best-seller, a novel that is both a shocking page-turner, and a philosophical provocation stirring controversy to this day."
