Paul Beatty and the Booker Prize

In this episode of Remarkable Receptions, Cameron Leader-Picone discusses Paul Beatty and the Booker Prize.

I recruited Cameron to write the episode because I was aware of his work on contemporary black writers. He's the author of Black and More Than Black: African American Fiction in the Post Era (2019).

In the episode, Cameron provides some background and context on the Booker Prize and then explains how far out or notably ironic it is that Beatty became the eventual winner for his novel The Sellout (2015).
