Lack of Advocates
A lack of advocates means that black people do not have enough supporters and representatives to redress the problem of African American interests being off the radar of institutions and influential decision-makers. A lack of advocates decreases the probability that university officials can or will address occurrences of institutional racism and racial inequity. An insufficient number of advocates also lessens the likelihood that black people will receive the full benefits of university resources and opportunities.
