Play Ebony Play Ivory (1974) is one of a few of Henry Dumas's posthumously published works. This volume was edited by Eugene B. Redmond and published by Random House, where Toni Morrison oversaw the production of the volume while working at the company. Dumas was killed in in 1968 by a transit police officer in New York City.
