Writing Black Panther: Ta-Nehisi Coates and Representation Struggles (2026) examines Ta-Nehisi Coates’s 50-issue run on Black Panther and highlights key developments in the comic book industry from his 2015 announcement as writer for the series through the release of the series in April 2016 and culminating in the publication of the omnibus in October 2022.
