For several years on this site, I've been writing about the receptions and coverage of black writers and books. So it's perhaps in line with that work that I created a project Remarkable Receptions -- a podcast about responses to African American novels.
I co-edit the episodes with my colleague Elizabeth Cali, and I've been mixing and producing the compositions. The podcast is part of the Black Literature Network, a joint project from African American literary studies at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and the History of Black Writing at the University of Kansas. The project is made possible by generous support from the Mellon Foundation.
Scholars of American and African American literature produce the scripts for episodes, and we employ voice actors to read them.
The episodes are available on: Apple Podcasts , Spotify, Stitcher, Google Podcasts, Buzzsprout, PlayerFM, Podcast Republic.
