Reading Jesmyn Ward at Parchman

Shortly after Ebony Lumumba completed her episode on Jesmyn Ward's Sing, Unburied, Sing for our series Remarkable Receptions, I learned that Lumumba leads a discussion group with men incarcerated at the Mississippi State Penitentiary—Parchman, and they had recently covered Ward's novel. 

So, I asked Lumumba to write about her work. This episode discusses the reception to Sing, Unburied, Sing among those men.
