The Rap Listening Sessions (The Golden age of Hip Hop)

Rakim and Mc Lyte. Slick Rick and Raekwon. Queen Latifah (before all the movies). Nas. L-Boogie. Jay-Z. Outkast....early Outkast. Check it.

This semester, we'll run a series of listening sessions concentrating on rap music, with a special focus on work from the so-called "Golden age of Hip Hop" (roughly the mid 80s through the mid to late 1990s). For years now, we've coordinated poetry listening sessions, we'll continue those and expand with some rap as well this semester.
