The Novel Category Machine

The Novel Category Machine is a literary cataloging demonstration that showcases how digital technologies create useful opportunities for organizing and displaying information about African American literature.

The demonstration features only 50 novels by African American writers from my personal collection and thus provides a glimpse of what might be possible for organizing and presenting ideas about a range of literary texts.

Over the next few weeks, I will provide more information about background on the project, its design, and how the Novel Category Machine might be used to expand interest and understanding of black literary art and history.
