A Crown for King #2

So we say: justice without violence.
We say: our time will come, believing, say
lay down your bricks, your rocks, your ignorance
and hate, join us now, it’s a brand new day.

We sit down to rise up, stand up to fight
for our rights without fighting outright, sit
down to stand for what we know is in sight.
Our arms linked together, we will resist.

We’ll turn the other cheek, tell our children
this is the beginning of something new,
we’ll suffer their wounds and rise up again
undaunted, sure of the justice we’re due.

He teaches us what forgiveness can mean,
this one man who dares to hope and to dream.
