Into the Blogosphere

Here we go.

Welcome to the SIUE Black Studies Program blog, our venue for extending conversations about African American studies and providing reports on the progress of our projects. Among other motives, our goal of modifying black studies here at SIUE has prompted our move into the blogosphere.

Our general outline for regular posts over the course of the next few months is as follows:

● Mondays will often focus on our projects relating to African American literary art, including the Poetry Correspondence Program and the Underground Freedom Galleries.

● Wednesdays will concentrate on our “Black Studies Now” series, a discussion of tech issues and the near-future of African American Studies.

● Fridays will contain “open threads,” progress reports, notations about interesting articles, and news items.

We hope you’ll join us by contributing to our ongoing conversations.
