New Black Voices: An Anthology of Contemporary Afro-American Literature

A few years after editing Black Voices, Abraham Chapman followed up with New Black Voices: An Anthology of Contemporary Afro-American Literature (1972). This anthology included works by Malcolm X, Ralph Ellison, Nikki Giovanni, Margaret Walker, Ishmael Reed, Imamu Amiri Baraka, and many others. I purchased my own New Black Voices shortly after I acquired Black Voices. Both were among my early black arts era anthologies.
