Verse #2: We Real Cool

We start the Poetry Correspondence Program soon, and there’s no doubt that Gwendolyn Brooks’s poem “We Real Cool” will be one of the selections we pass along and comment on to the middle school and high school recipients.

Brooks’s poem is widely known, but surely folks have all kinds of ways of presenting the piece. Here, we offer our rendition. This video also pays homage to Richard Wright's 12 Million Black Voices, for like Wright, we've utilized images from the Farm Security Administration archive to complement the words.
