Back in May 2017 when Victor LaValle's Destroyer #1 first came out, I emailed his publisher Boom! Studios and asked when the trade paperback would be published. I wanted to find a way to include it in my classes...based on just one issue. And here we are in fall 2018. I selected Destroyer as one of the works we're covering in the comic book class I'm co-teaching this semester.
By the time I finished the six-part in October 2017, I was really impressed with the story and the art. I've blogged just a little here and here about LaValle's book, so I'm excited to cover Destroyer in more detail with students in the course.
