Uncanny

Uncanny refers to "an instance where something can be familiar, yet foreign at the same time, resulting in a feeling of it being uncomfortably strange or uncomfortably familiar."

Program contributor Briana Whiteside further explains that uncanny means "an unusual, mysterious, strange, or even supernatural trait or set of traits that makes a figure stand out in a given environment. Uncanny can also refer to power, strength, and defiance in characters who refuse to conform to norms."
