It's easy to point at big corporations and the government for not taking action, but then we must think what it is that we are doing differently. The common folk are doing nothing to change the issue at all. We rely on higher ups to make the changes for us and it is handicapping us more than helping us. We can try to change somethings such as using means of transportation that do not require fossil fuels. Ride a bike to places of short distance rather than drive. As it talks about ice streams and how they can in some cases be “an irreversible process” it’s in some ways heartbreaking. Most people don’t pay attention to global warming and the severity behind it because we don’t see it, but being able to visualize on page 96 a pool the size of New York filled 23 feet high with water gave me a new outlook. The documentaries showed clips of ice caps collapsing into the ocean. Though some part of the cap would be reformed, the loss of ice and snow was still too much to make up for. I always try and hope that the environment will be better taken care of in the future. But reading the effects that has taken place and knowing that it is going to take a lot to combat the changes in the environment due to climate change, makes me think that we have to take action.
