Politically Inspiring Black Women 2011

Display panels on Sonia Sanchez & Lauryn Hill from the exhibit.
This past Thursday, September 8, we coordinated our annual exhibit, "Politically Inspiring Black Women."  The exhibit features photographic images and short biographical sketches of several political or inspiring black women.

The exhibit seeks to extend our broader conversations about African American ideas, racial equity, and interactive learning activities. The project highlights the presence of black women in discourses of politics and empowerment, broadly defined.

This year, our contributor Danielle Hall handled most of the organizational duties, expanding the exhibit with additional biographical sketches and photographs.
